Laura Hirvinen

Laura graduated from the University of Helsinki in 2005. She then completed an internship at Hyvinkää Equine Hospital followed by a three year residency training program in equine surgery at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, USA. Laura successfully passed the American College of Veterinary Surgeons board examinations in the beginning of 2010 and she is the only American boarded equine surgeon in Sweden. She has a special interest in equine orthopedic surgery and she has conducted studies investigating the role of bone cements in bone healing.
Laura grew up riding horses and owned a halvblod until she moved to the US. She also enjoys training English pointing dogs, but currently most of her free time is spent renovating an old house.
